As an interdisciplinary scholar, with a focus on culture, race, early childhood, and special education, her teaching, research, and service cross many boundaries reaching deep into the fields of history, education, sociocultural studies, and popular culture.  Dr. Moore’s passion presenting and facilitating is capacity-building workshops that provide opportunities to youth to develop a strong sense of agency.  Bridge2Greatness provides those opportunities.

Dr. Moore believes that programs such as Bridge2Greatness provide opportunities for young girls and women of color to gain the cultural capital needed to successfully navigate our society. The young women and girls selected to attend the Bridge2Greatness summer sessions are exposed to comprehensive programming that focuses on the complex challenges faced by today’s y0uth. The program offers a safe space for personal growth and development, as well as opportunities to network with mentors. It is expected that the participants will flourish and become more focused on a trajectory of success.

Bridge2Greatness is a vital organization that all young ladies can benefit from. This program provides a unique mentoring experience for girls of color who are mentored by highly driven women of color. I believe wholeheartedly that this organization is exactly what girls need today in a society where they often see superficial imagery. All girls have greatness inside of them that is waiting to be unlocked to succeed and fight against the odds. This program will not only uplift girls through their teen years but is almost certain to have a long lasting positive impression on their adulthood.

Bridge2Greatness is built on a foundation of doing exactly this…exposing at-risk, under-resourced, and under-served young girls to experiences and opportunities they may not have otherwise. These young ladies become more confident, servant leaders, and challenge themselves to dream that which they once thought was impossible.
